Flat tyre — what it means and what to do

A puncture is one of the most common road damage types. It is usually caused by a foreign object: nail, screw, metal fragment or glass. The damage may affect the tread zone or the more difficult-to-repair sidewall zone.

Nail or screw in the tread

The most common type of puncture. A foreign object stuck in the tread causes slow pressure loss. In many cases the tyre is suitable for a permanent internal patch repair.

Sidewall damage

More difficult to repair — the sidewall carries dynamic loads. We repair selected sidewall damage with special patches (55×75 mm to 115×125 mm) after assessing the extent of the damage.

Run-Flat and tubeless tyres

Run-Flat tyres allow driving about 80 km at up to 80 km/h after a puncture. We repair them after condition assessment — if they weren't run without pressure for too long. Tubeless tyres are repaired using standard methods.

Sealant in the tyre

Not every tyre with sealant qualifies for repair. We accept such tyres for assessment — mounting after cleaning the damage is done for 20 PLN/pc.

Important

Rope Repair — Temporary Fix Only

Rope (plug) repair involves inserting a special cord through the puncture hole from the outside, without removing the tyre. While it's quick (10–15 min) and cheap (30 PLN), it is treated solely as emergency assistance, not a permanent repair.

Rope repair

Temporary

Why isn't rope repair enough?

  • The rope does not fully restore the tyre's structural integrity — it doesn't protect the steel cord or fabric inside.
  • At higher speeds and loads the rope can loosen or fall out.
  • Tyre manufacturers and European standards (e.g. ETRTO) treat rope repair solely as emergency roadside assistance.
  • Insurers may refuse claims after an accident if the tyre was repaired only with a rope plug.
Cost 30 zł

Internal patch repair

Permanent
  • Full seal — patch vulcanised from inside
  • Won't fall out — regardless of speed or load
  • Complies with ETRTO standards and manufacturer guidelines
  • Insurer won't dispute the repair

Permanent repair — internal patch

Professional repair requires dismounting the tyre, cleaning the damage area, and vulcanising a patch from the inside. A combination repair (rope + patch) or patch alone restores full structural integrity and is the only repair recognised by manufacturers as permanent. Cost starts at 50 PLN for the tread zone.

Frequently asked questions about puncture repair

How much does puncture repair cost?

Price depends on the type and location of the damage. Tread patch repair (43×43 mm) — 50 PLN. Sidewall zone: 80–150 PLN depending on patch size. Temporary rope repair — 30 PLN. Tyre mounting with sealant — 20 PLN/pc.

Can you repair a sidewall puncture?

Yes, we repair selected sidewall damage with 55×75 mm, 75×90 mm and 115×125 mm patches (80–150 PLN). Not all sidewall damage qualifies for repair — we assess on-site.

Is rope repair safe?

Rope repair is a temporary solution — recommended only as emergency assistance to reach the workshop. It should not be treated as a permanent repair or used for long or high-speed driving. We recommend a proper internal patch repair afterwards.

How long does tyre repair take?

Standard tread patch repair takes about 30–45 minutes (dismounting, cleaning, patch vulcanisation, remounting). Rope repair is faster — about 10–15 minutes.

Do you repair Run-Flat and tubeless tyres?

Yes, we repair Run-Flat (RFT) and tubeless tyres. Run-Flat tyres require additional diagnostics — not every damage qualifies for repair, especially if the tyre was driven without pressure.

How do I know if my tyre is punctured?

A punctured tyre typically shows as dropping pressure, a rubbing noise while driving, vibrations, or the car pulling to one side. Sometimes a foreign object (nail, screw) is visible in the tread. If you're unsure — come by, we'll check on the spot.
